Thomas Goheen

  Thomas A. Goheen, 57, of Missoula, passed away Dec. 17, 2007, of peritonitis. He was born Aug. 10, 1950, to June C. Beckwith and Jack A. Goheen. Tom graduated from Hellgate High School and received a diploma in Engineering Drafting from Western Technical College in Englewood, Colo. Tom worked as a fireman for the Missoula Rural Fire Department for several years and retired as a Battalion Fire Chief. He was active with the Fill-The-Boot each year for Muscular Dystrophy. He was also a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters. Tom loved to ski with his friends and was proud of the time they went "helicopter skiing." He also enjoyed boating each summer in the San Juan Islands and along the Canadian Coast. He was an avid "Griz" fan and traveled to the East Coast for champion games. He was preceded in death by father Jack A. Goheen and mother June C. Beckwith. Tom is survived by sister Patricia A. Hancock of Spokane; half-brother Gerald (Michele) Pipinich of San Bruno, Calif.; and his nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 830 South Ave. W., with Pastor Aprille Jordan officiating. His ashes were interred at the foot of his father's grave in St. Mary's Cemetery in Missoula. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
