Valerie Stone

I am now retired and have two grandchildren: Julian, who was born to my oldest, Emiliano, and his wife, Meghan, in September of 2011, and Oliver who followed along in August of 2013 They live in Menlo Park (CA), so I get to see them frequently and babysit :) Mino (Emiliano) only has to work 2/3 time and when Meghan went back to work at her job as a medical researcher at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, they decided she'd only go back half time. So I'm not needed desperately for babysitting; mostly just for fun.
Sierra got married to Liz Morris last August at Lake Tahoe. Liz is an attorney for a non-profit, pro-labor firm, but because she's on a partner track, (and because she's brilliant and dedicated), she works long hours and very hard.
My youngest, Gabriel, is engaged to Nikki, whom he met as an undergrad at Stanford. She has her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins in International Diplomacy, but is back at Stanford Law now. Except that this summer she's in Beijing working for an employment discrimination law firm that specializes in gender discrimination in the work place. She also founded an anti-sex-trafficking group that was chartered by the United Nations, and while a first-year law student at Stanford, she was the policy director for the Iraqui-Afghani Refugee Project. They'll be married July 5 at Lake Tahoe and they currently live in San Francisco.
So I'm be very happy to have all of them in the Bay Area with me. :-)
