Terry  Cromwell was a good friend during our grade school years at Paxson and we continued to see each other each school day while at Hellgate High School.  I was on his route to Hellgate, so he picked me up and we then walked over to Hans Holt's house and continued on to Hellgate.  Sometimes Ken Hugos joined us.

My strongest memories are from grade school days. He was a seriously funny guy and could put me in stitches.  One time after going to a movie at the Wilma we walked back over the Higgins Bridge and his routine had me doubled over, so that I remember looking straight down into the Clark Fork River, fearing I might fall in. Terry brought back skits from summer camp, whichever religious camp it was, and he shared them and reworked them with a few of us on more than one occasion.  Presentation to the class or to the school were big hits.

Terry was a trouper for most pickup games, whether baseball or basketball, as I recall, though he wasn't the fanatic I was.  By comparison, he was more connected with general culture, appreciating movies and jazz music,  TV and more.  Though we rarely talked about politics in those days, I do remember that he was one of only a few kids in the whole class who favored democrats - I think it was the 1960 Kennedy - Nixon election.

We shared being faculty brats and would enjoy catching up through the years.  How he faced medical/physical challenges over these past years was inspirational - his ability to bring positive and friendly and warm interactions.  I will carry his memories as a blessing.

I went to Paxon, too. I remember Terry so well. What a great guy. He used to do an "alligator" dance on the floor  when we had school dances. I remember I went to one of his tap dance recitals. He was truly a crazy, bright renaisance kid his whole life. My life was enriched knowing him. I hope he is at peace. He certainly brightened this earth while he was here. Sheryl Jordan
